Send check-ins to Notion

Send to Notion archives every closed check-in run as a page in a database asyncmate creates in your Notion. It is a Pro feature, it is one-way (asyncmate writes, never reads your notes), and it never applies to anonymous check-ins.

1Connect Notion

Go to Settings → Integrations and click Connect Notion. Notion asks which pages asyncmate may use; pick at least one, it only ever sees the pages you choose there. Back in Settings, click Choose page and select where the database should live. asyncmate creates a database called asyncmate check-ins under that page and the card shows Connected with an Open database button.

The database has seven columns: Name, Date, Check-in, Responded, Expected, Blockers and an asyncmate link back to the run. Add your own columns, views and filters freely; asyncmate only fills these seven.

2Turn it on per check-in

Open a check-in, go to the Digest step, expand Advanced delivery and switch on Send to Notion. Each check-in decides for itself, so a daily standup can archive while a weekly pulse does not. Follow-up check-ins inherit the setting from the check-in they follow.

Send to Notion and Anonymous cannot both be on: an anonymous check-in has no names to archive, so nothing would be worth a page.

3What lands in Notion

One page per run, created right after the digest posts to your channel. The page carries the same content as the digest:

• the AI summary, when it ran, with blockers, action items and what shipped,
• every person's answers, question by question,
• who did not respond,
• a link back to the run in asyncmate. The run page shows Open in Notion in return.

Answers longer than a Notion block allows are split across blocks; a single very long answer is cut with an ellipsis rather than dropped.

Pages are only ever added, never edited or deleted. Renaming a column in Notion is fine, asyncmate tracks columns by id. Deleting one is not: pages then arrive with the title only and the Integrations card explains why. To get the full pages back, Disconnect and connect again, which creates a fresh database; the old pages stay where they are.

4When the connection breaks

If the database is deleted, un-shared from asyncmate, or the connection is revoked in Notion, the Integrations card turns red with the reason and a Reconnect button, and the workspace owner gets one email. Runs that close while it is broken are not sent; the run page says so. Reconnect, and the next runs go through again. Runs that were skipped are not sent later.

5Disconnect

Settings → Integrations → Disconnect stops all sending and switches Send to Notion off on every check-in. Everything already in Notion stays there.

What is not sent

Polls, anonymous surveys, reminders, hours logs and kudos stay out of Notion; only check-in runs are archived. On the free plan the toggle is visible but locked until you start Pro or a trial.
